Sheridan Wine Dinner

6:30PM

Hosted by "Big John" of Sheridan Wines - one of the highest rated wineries in Washington State.

“Wow, hold on to your hats for these latest releases from Sheridan's Scott Greer! This is a killer vintage from this Yakima Valley based estate and he's made one of the Cabernet Sauvignons of the vintage, probably the best Cabernet Franc I've ever tasted from Washington, and an insanely good Syrah that reminds me of Guigal's famed Côte Rôties. Bravo!” -30th Jun 2017, Issue 231 The Wine Advocate

Sheridan Wine Dinner

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 15, 2017

6:30PM

In 1996, Scott Greer found 76 acres of land located on a hilltop in the Yakima Valley. The following year, he started the vineyard by planting ten acres of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Syrah grapes. Sheridan Vineyard's first harvest was in 2000. That year, Scott bottled a Syrah and a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc now known as L'Orage. Today, with the property fully planted, Scott continues to focus on sustainable farming practices and keeping yields low as the vineyard matures.

1st Course

ESCARGOT STUFFED MUSHROOMS
2015 Sheridan LaBelle Chardonnay- 89 Points, Wine Advocate
A rich, full-flavored effort that gives up plenty of poached pear and butter apple notes in its medium to full-bodied, creamy, rounded style. It picks up subtle floral and toasted nut characteristics with time in the glass.

2nd Course

ROASTED PARTRIDGE WITH WILD RICE AND SQUASH PUREE
2015 Sheridan Mystique Red- 94 Points, Wine Advocate
Its deep ruby/purplish color is followed by notes of blackcurrants, white chocolate, wood smoke and tobacco. Deep, plush and opulent on the palate, with a silky texture.

3rd Course

GORGONZOLA STUFFED BEEF TENDERLOIN WITH BLENDED ROOT VEGETABLES
2015 Sheridan Cabernet Sauvignon-93 Points, Wine Advocate
A deep purple/ruby colored red from Scott that has considerable elegance in its creme de cassis, lead pencil, toasted bread and black raspberry scented bouquet. Medium to full-bodied, silky and polished on the palate, with terrific purity.

4th Course

RACK OF LAMB, SERVED WITH HERB PARMESAN POLENTA AND FIRE ROASTED GOLDEN CARROT
2013 Sheridan Singularity Syrah-97 Points, Wine Advocate
A meaty, beefy, smoky wine that always brings to my mind a top Côte Rôtie from the Guigal family. Smoked meats, cured bacon fat, chocolate, blackcurrants and licorice nuances flow to a full-bodied, impeccably balanced, seamless Syrah that has nicely integrated acidity, ripe tannin and a great finish.

Dessert

DOUBLE CHOCOLATE BUNDT CAKE
2013 Sheridan Block 1 Cabernet Sauvignon-97 Points, Wine Advocate
Tobacco leaf, blackcurrants, toasted bread, lead pencil and spice are just some of the nuances here, and it's full-bodied, silky and seamless on the palate, with a fresh, clean, elegant style that just begs to be drunk.
