Phil Stemmler

EXECUTIVE CHEF

Starting as a dishwasher at 15 years old, Phil didn’t realize he had started a career. His dedication to excellence and teamwork was distilled during his three tours in Iraq. Upon returning, he jumped back into the kitchen and after twenty years he still loves creating dishes to please the eyes as well as the palette. When Phil is not in the kitchen, he enjoys spending time with his beautiful wife and two beautiful daughters.

Jasmine Bernard

SOMMELIER

Jasmine is a Colorado native, having moved to the St. Louis area as a teen, later attending William Jewell College in Liberty, Missouri. After college, Jasmine spent several years in Arizona and Southern California, where her sincere passion for the restaurant and hospitality industry grew. Jasmine was given the opportunity to have a hand in opening one of the most popular wine and craft cocktail bars in the Tempe area. This experience was ultimately what inspired and continues to inspire her genuine love for not only the product she serves but more importantly the guests she is serving the product to. Jasmine returned to St. Louis in 2013,  the year in which  she became an integral part of the wonderful Balaban’s family. In 2014, Jasmine started a family of her own giving birth to a beautiful baby boy. After 15 years in the industry, Jasmine continues to prove her genuine love and passion for what she does, always striving for ways to improve personally and professionally. Jasmine understands the true meaning of hospitality, and the importance of the guest experience
