The Mastrojanni Wine Dinner will be held Sunday, September 17 at 6:30 PM.  Mastrojanni has been writing history with its wines since 1975, collecting awards from all over the world.   And in those years, only a few entered the wine-making adventure in Montalcino. Today, thanks to an exceptional terroir and men who have believed in it for decades, Mastrojanni has become one of the most respected Montalcino producers as far as wine buffs are concerned.  Join us as we celebrate the wines from the historic estate of Mastrojanni with chef’s special food pairings.

1st Course

Parmesan Encrusted Salmon with Cucumber Dill Sauce on an Arugula and Asparagus Salad
2015 Rosso di Montalcino
Characterized by an intriguing youthful classicism, featuring fragrant and juicy sour cherry. An intense entry with a pleasantly tannic and savory ending on the palate.

2nd Course

Grilled Lamb Chop with Mint Gremolade, served with Tri-color Fingerling Potatoes and Baby Squash
2011 Brunello di Montalcino
Fruits and spices run after each other in a sweet conjunction conveyed by tobacco notes. Frank and potent, at the same time strong and full-bodied, it ends with a lingering sapidity.

3rd Course

Pappardelle Pasta with Wild Boar Bordelaise
2011 Brunello di Montalcino Vigna Loreto
The oriental spices and the fresh tobacco leave enhance its ripe red fruit notes. Broad and enveloping entry, supported by a potent and ripe tannin, to conclude with a silky and elegant ending.

4th Course

Sauteed Foie Gras on Wild Mushroom Duxelles
2013 San Pio
Rich aroma, an amazing interchange of both fresh fruits and spicy scents. Deep and broad, thick and austere tannins, sapid and lingering ending.

Dessert

House Made Pecan Pie with Whipped Cream
2007 Botrys Dessert Wine
Light Muscat notes with apricot jam and honey finish.
